Your Jersey Shore Fall Family Bucket List

Autumn lovers rejoice! Fall is here!

It’s easy to feel like you can miss out on the great fun activities each season offers. Lives get busy and it’s hard to always prioritize the fun things. Enter, this Fall Family Bucket List! You can focus on some great local fun and keep track of the other must-do items your family loves.

Let us know your family traditions here at the shore. We’re always looking for creative ways to have fun and celebrate the season!

üPick Pumpkins- Not much beats a hand-picked pumpkin straight from the field to decorate your home. Go pumpkin picking at Allen Family Farms for your family’s pumpkins this year.

üBe a foodie for the day- This year’s 22nd Annual Cape May Food and Wine Festival (happening September 14-22 on various days) will showcase the best and tastiest that Cape May has to offer.

üWatch the leaves from a unique vantage point- You can take a drive to see the leaves change from the road, or you could go to the Cape May Lighthouse to watch the beauty from a truly local perspective. Take a look from above and enjoy the color show presented by nature.

üSay “cheers” to the season- The Harvest Brew Festival (September 15) offers beers from great craft brewers and celebrates all the great local treasures Cape May has to offer.

üGrab a PSL- If you’re a true addict, you know a PSL stands for Pumpkin Spice Latte. Even if you aren’t truly addicted, you must have at least one of these sweet and delicious drinks before the season ends. Try the delicious latte at any of the local Coffee Tyme shops.

üCheck out the birds- The New Jersey Audubon’s Fall Festival (October 18-21) is one of the best places to view the fall migration of beautiful birds! This is a local destination for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts from all over the country.

üGo to a quintessential fall festival- The Pumpkin Festival at Historic Cold Springs Village (October 20) offers a day of family fun that includes pumpkin painting, games, and so much more!

üPick a perfect apple- It would be a shame to miss out on the delicious apple picking season. Stiles Farms allows guests to pick their own apples for a fun and tasty outing that might result in some delicious pies or other goodies this fall.

Carve pumpkins- Let each member of the family choose a design and carve their own pumpkins! Grab a pumpkin from Rea’s Farm Stand for perfect carving.

ü Enjoy crafts and collectibles- The Autumn Crafts and Collectibles Show (happening various weekends) in Cape May offers a great chance to buy unique locally made crafts and cool collectibles.

ü Have a Pumpkin Contest- Now that you’ve each carved the perfect pumpkin, post pictures on social media or poll trick-or-treaters to determine a winner.

ü Go for a ghostly walk- Historic Cold Springs village is offering Ghost Walks through the grounds. Take a spooky (and potentially educational) walk through the village with the help of a guide.

What bucket list items can you never miss in the fall? We’d love to know how you celebrate this season!
