1. Stage your home. It’s a good idea to present your home in the best light possible. Think of it from the perspective of a house hunter and make some minor enhancements. You should also consider hiring a professional stager to stage your home for you. In either case, a good place to start when home staging is the home’s front entrance or main foyer.
2. Don’t overprice your property. If you meet with a Realtor like myself beforehand, I can give you an honest assessment of how you should price your property. Another way to price your home at a fair market value is to look at the comparable home sales in your surrounding neighborhood.
3. Provide easy access to your house. Make sure people can get in and out of your property easily and there’s plenty of parking. If parking is limited, make sure people know that before they get there. If your home isn’t easily accessible, buyers will skip your home and move onto the next one.
4. Remember that the best time of year to sell your home is from spring to summer. This isn’t to say that homes don’t sell 365 days a year, but this stretch is particularly good for sellers.
